The SiCare Standard is an entire home/multi-room Environmental Control Unit (also referred to as an EADL/Electronic Aid for Daily Living). It can be operated by natural voice (spoken commands) or dual/single switch with scanning for nonverbal control. Infrared transmitter for control of household consumer electronics. Radio transmitter for X-10 control of household appliances. Internal loudspeaker enables voice feedback on menu commands, a technology acceptance of your voice command. Auditory feedback on scanning. A fully customizable menu tree is developed and infrared or radiofrequency signals are linked to voice commands. Multiple device types such as televisions, DVD players, lights, heating and air conditioning thermostat(s), ceiling fans, door/gate systems, telephone, IR Bed Controller and more can be operated by voice and/or switch.

Key Benefits

  • Equipped with RF (radio frequency) X-10 capabilities for controlling lights, door systems, thermostat(s) and other X-10 enabled devices. This means the user doesn't need to be in the same room to control any X-10 enabled device within the home. RF signals are capable of traveling throughout the home so "line-of-sight" proximity isn't required. Examples of this advantage are being able to activate a door opener from outside the home, or turn the living room light off from the bedroom, etc.. The SiCare Standard is virtually unlimited in terms of the number of X-10 devices that can be configured and operated (unlike the SiCare Light II which is limited to 4 X-10 devices for each IR Command Center).
  • Fully customizable command menu (unlike the SiCare Light II which uses a fixed word/non-customizable command menu)
  • Virtually unlimited in the number of like devices such as televisions, DVD players, CD players that can be operated with the SiCare Standard (unlike the SiCare Light II which is limited to 1 device of each type. For example, 1 television, 1 DVD player, 1 CD player, etc.). Because of this, the SiCare Standard is considered to an ECU for controlling the entire home rather than a single room ECU.
  • It is easy for a caregiver/attendant to move the SiCare from a bedside holder to a wheelchair mount due to the slide-in holder/mounting system.
